Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Quickly find answers to your questions about Neerbee, the local mutual aid app.

What is Neerbee?

Neerbee is a local mutual aid app where Bees publish vibees: ephemeral geolocated announcements for requests (help, services, items, advice…) or offers. Vibees are ephemeral, geolocated, and display around you on an interactive map. Neerbee connects Bees in a spirit of solidarity and local mutual aid.

Is the app free?

Yes, registration and use are completely free. You sign up with your phone number and a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS; you then have Bee status (up to 5 vibees, durations 1/7/15 days). No subscription, no payment.

Can I post multiple vibees?

Yes. As a Bee (signed-in user), you can have up to 5 active vibees at once, with a duration of 1, 7, or 15 days. As a Guest (not signed in), you can only browse the map and feed; you cannot create vibees.

Are there payments in the app?

No, Neerbee does not handle payments. Neerbee simply connects Bees. Payment is made directly between individuals or not, according to your agreement (service exchange, donation, cost sharing, etc.). Neerbee takes no commission on transactions.

How is geolocation used?

Geolocation is used only for:

We do not track your position in real time. Only the location of the published vibee is kept while it is active. You can withdraw your consent to geolocation at any time in the app settings.

How do I report a problem?

Use BeeSignals in the app to report:

Moderation responds quickly (within 48 hours maximum). For more information, see our moderation policy.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account in two ways:

Deletion is permanent and results in the deletion of all your personal data in accordance with GDPR.

Is it secure?

Yes, Neerbee is secure. Data is stored via a secure storage service (GDPR compliant) with:

The community + moderation also ensure a safe environment. See our privacy policy for more details.

What is an ephemeral vibee?

A vibee expresses the intention of a message located on the map. It does not describe a profession, service, or status, but a need or information of the moment (for example: furniture to assemble, a lost cat, a lawn mower to borrow). Vibees expire automatically after a set duration to keep information fresh.

Three main intentions:

Context (« what it's about ») is found via keyword search (title and description). A vibee answers « Why am I publishing » (intent).

How do Guest and Bee work?

There are two statuses only:

Registration is free and gives you Bee status directly.

Can I use Neerbee without an account?

You can browse the map and feed as a Guest (read-only, no account). To create vibees or interact (comments, favorites), an account is required; registration is free (phone + SMS) and gives you Bee status directly.

Is Neerbee available outside France?

Currently, Neerbee is primarily oriented toward the French market (GDPR compliance, ESS regulation). The app can technically work elsewhere, but features and support are optimized for France. International extensions are planned for the future.

How do I offer my help to someone?

The « Offer my help » button appears only on Mutual aid vibees (help requests, equipment lending, etc.). On Info or Collective vibees, you can comment but not offer coordinated help.

To offer your help, your profile must be complete: profile photo and address. If you see a message like « Verify your phone number to offer your help » or similar, go to your profile to complete these. Your address is never shared with other users.

Once sent, the vibee author receives a notification and can accept or decline. You cannot offer help on your own vibee, nor have more than 5 help offers in progress at once.

Why complete my profile (photo, address)?

A complete profile builds trust in the community and unlocks some features:

Without photo and address, you can still create vibees and comment, but not use the « Offer my help » button.

How do I contact support?

We generally respond within 48 hours.
