How does neerbee work?

Two simple steps to act locally

1

I am a Bee

Bee of the community

I join the neerbee community and become a Bee. I can create Vibees, offer my help on existing Vibees via comments, and respond to my neighborhood's needs.

2

I publish a Vibee

Local need

I need help! Can someone help me? I publish a geolocated Vibee to express my need. A Vibee is your need of the moment (a piece of furniture to assemble, a lost cat, a lawnmower to borrow). You publish it, Bees around see it on the map, they respond. Simple as a wingbeat 🐝

Neighborhood stories

People helping each other locally

Discover how Neerbee creates connections in neighborhoods through real stories. Generations naturally crossing paths, around local life.

Sophie and the move

"I needed help assembling furniture. In 2 hours, 3 Bees offered their help. We ended up creating a mutual aid group in the neighborhood!"

Sophie, 32, had a sofa to assemble. She published a Mutual Aid in the morning. In the afternoon, 3 Bees were there to help her. Since then, they help each other regularly.

Marie's cat found

"My cat had been missing for 3 days. Thanks to the Collective, the whole neighborhood mobilized. We found him the next day!"

Marie created a Collective to mobilize the neighborhood. In 24h, more than 20 people had shared the info and searched. The cat was in a garden two streets away.

The collective cleanup

"We organized a neighborhood cleanup via a Collective. 15 Bees mobilized. The neighborhood has never been so clean!"

One Saturday morning, a group of Bees created a Collective for a waste collection. Result: 15 participants, 8 bags filled, and a transformed neighborhood.

The alert that prevented an accident

"A tree had fallen on the road. I created an Alert. In 10 minutes, the whole neighborhood was informed and the town hall alerted."

After a storm, someone published an Alert to alert about a fallen tree. The town hall was contacted quickly and the tree removed before an accident happened.

The lawnmower loan

"I needed a lawnmower for once. Instead of buying one, I found someone who lent it to me. Savings and social connection!"

A simple Mutual Aid to borrow a lawnmower created a neighborhood friendship. Now they regularly exchange tools and services.

Knowledge transmission

"I needed help understanding an administrative letter. A retired person helped me, and since then we exchange regularly: he teaches me DIY, I help him with his smartphone."

A simple Mutual Aid created an intergenerational friendship. Now they help each other regularly, without ever talking about age. Generations naturally cross paths around local life.

The Vibees

A vibee expresses the intention of a message located on the map. It does not describe a job, a service, or a status. There are three intentions: Info (inform / report), Mutual Aid (ask for or offer help), Collective (mobilize several people). Accessible to all Bees aged 16 and over. Context (« what it's about ») is found via keyword search (title and description). A vibee answers « Why I publish » (intention).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Neerbee.

What is an ephemeral Vibee?

A Vibee is your need of the moment (a piece of furniture to assemble, a lost cat, a lawnmower to borrow). You publish it, people around see it on the map, they respond. Simple as a wingbeat 🐝 Vibees expire automatically to keep info fresh and current.

How does Neerbee work?

You publish geotagged Vibees, you browse an interactive map of local ads, and you contact the Bees concerned directly. Without intermediary or commission.

Does Neerbee use algorithms?

No, Neerbee doesn't choose what you should see. You see what's really happening near you, period. By order of proximity and freshness. No system that classifies or judges you. It's simple and transparent.

Is Neerbee suitable for all ages?

Yes, Neerbee is designed for everyone, regardless of age. Connections are created naturally around situations, not categories. Generations cross paths without seeking each other.

How to guarantee security?

Verified profiles, reputation system, local moderation and ability to report abuse. Neighborhood mutual aid is built on mutual trust. Vibees are ephemeral, limiting digital trace and social pressure. The Beekeeper feature is a complementary tool for institutions (permissions and broadcast capabilities), not a type of vibee. Institutions use the same intentions as citizens (info, mutual aid, collective).

How do geolocated notifications work?

Neerbee's ethical innovation: verified Bees automatically receive notifications when a Vibee appears near them, within a customizable radius. Precise geolocation, privacy respect, no permanent tracking. Radius notifications are particularly useful for institutional alerts broadcast via the Beekeeper feature (complementary tool, not a type of vibee).

Are Vibees really ephemeral?

Yes, Vibees expire automatically after a set duration. This ensures you only see current needs and offers, and reduces social pressure and surveillance.
